Tuxedo Community Centre is excited to provide excellent soccer opportunities to young people in our community. Dedicated players and volunteer coaches will play throughout May and June.
The first 10 to 15 minutes will be used as a warm up time for drills with the players. The games are designed to introduce elementary skills and concepts to the players. After that a game will be played running approximately 30 minutes for mini soccer and 45 minutes for house league.
Expect a few cancellations due to rain, thunderstorms, or spring cold blasts. Games are cancelled if the field is unsuitable for safe play (too wet and spongy). Cancellations will be advised by email or telephone, therefore unless you hear otherwise expect you will play.
T-shirts will be provided on the first day of play. No other equipment is required although shin pads may be worn.
Soccer for these age groups is constantly evolving. The structures will not always follow standard play, such as adjusting the numbers of players on the field to ensure all players have time with the ball, therefore providing a fun and stimulating environment, leading to the enhancement of their soccer skills. The WSEU Referee Committee is now accepting applications for new referees for the 2011 outdoor season. If you are interested in becoming a Soccer Referee, visit the WSEU website for full details.
Come and participate in the world's leading sport. The 9+ soccer program is played district and city-wide. The following is the schedule of play for all 9+ south end recreational teams:
Birth year 2002 (U9) - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Birth year 2001 (U10) - Mondays and Wednesdays
Birth year 2000 (U11) - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Birth year 1999 (U12) - Mondays and Wednesdays
Birth year 1998 (U13) - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Birth year 1997 (U14) - Mondays and Wednesdays
Birth year 1996 (U15) - Tuesdays and Thursdays
Birth year 1995 (U16) - Mondays and Wednesdays
There will also be occasional weekend games. Please note that the above listed schedule is for GAMES ONLY. The coach may also schedule practices on other days as required.
The fees are as follows for the 2011 Season:
$170 for all children age 9 - 12
$190 for all children age 13 - 16
$200 for all children age 17 -18
Season starts (weather permitting) in early May, ends mid-June, stops over the summer and resumes in September.
Championship games usually run the first week of October. It is a requirement at this age that children wear soccer cleats and shin guards.
All Tuxedo children who want to play in 9+ over soccer must register at the Tuxedo Community Centre at the registration dates indicated.
Late registrations may be accepted up to 5:00pm on March 15, 2010. However, late registrations will be noted and will be last to be assigned teams. If teams are FULL, late registrants will not be given a spot.
$25.00 LATE REGISTRATION FEE WILL APPLY IN ALL CASES.
After March 15th, NO FURTHER LATE SOCCER REGISTRATIONS can be accepted as teams will have been formed with member community centres.
9 & Over Soccer (Winter Program)
Winter Soccer registration for 9 and over players will take place at River Heights Community Centre. Please contact River Heights CC for more information.
